Get the True Shinto Experience

What is the Shinto experience? Shinto (the way of the spirits) comes from the words “shen,” which refers to spiritual forces found in physical objects and nature, and “tao,” meaning way. By following the ways of these spirits, one embraces a life of peace and tranquility. It’s the feeling of complete satisfaction that Shinto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Lounge wants every customer to enjoy during their meal. We think our restaurant captures the true Shinto experience in three ways —food, staff, and setting. These aspects combine to transform your lunch or dinner into an unforgettable experience.

Setting the Stage for a Shinto Experience

You’ll find Shinto tucked away off of IL-59. From the moment you walk through our doors, the beautiful and calming ambiance will hit you. Our restaurant makes the most of light. Our dining room is well-lit and features large panel windows to bring in the natural sunlight. For those who want to enjoy the sun a little more closely, we have a large patio for outdoor dining.

At the center of the restaurant, you’ll find our round bar, which gives you the best view of the entire restaurant. The colorful blue and green lighting above the bar are creates a soothing atmosphere that you can’t help but feel good in.

You might also notice at the front of the restaurant is our gallery of photos that some of our customers have shared over the years. Everyone who comes through our doors is a part of the Shinto family, and we love being able to share that with you. It’s that personal touch that’s hard to find in other restaurants.

Friendly, Helpful Staff Make a Difference

Every team member at Shinto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Lounge receives ample training to ensure they provide exceptional service to each customer. Owners select employees carefully and make sure managers train the employees personally. We’re proud of our team, be it the kitchen staff or the dining room staff, and we know they’ll take the best care of you while you’re here!

You’ll never have to worry about what to order when you’re at Shinto. Our staff takes the time to really get to know you and can make recommendations based on your preferences. We’ll let you know what’s in your roll, how it was prepared and how the ingredients work together to create that irresistible flavor you’ve come to know and love from Shinto. The Shinto experience relies on your happiness, so in the rare event a problem arises, we can address it immediately.

We roll everything by hand and use only the freshest ingredients for our sushi rolls, and you can absolutely taste the difference. We promise that everything from our specialty rolls to our fried rice will leave you full and satisfied.

Fresh, Delicious Sushi Seals the Deal

You won’t find a fresher sushi roll anywhere in town. We roll everything by hand and use only the freshest ingredients for our sushi rolls, and you can absolutely taste the difference. We promise that everything from our specialty rolls to our fried rice will leave you full and satisfied.

Some of our favorite rolls include the Signature Little Delicious roll, Captin Jack roll and Tropic Thunder roll. In the Little Delicious, you’ll find fresh crab and spicy tuna paired with avocado, cream cheese and flash fried eel. We top it with spicy mayo and eel sauce to give it a little something extra.

Our Captain Jack roll is another great choice for those who like a little spice. It’s got Spicy salmon, avocado, and cucumber rolled up inside, and then it’s topped with salmon, chopped jalapeno, and mango. The Tropic Thunder starts with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, mango, avocado, and red tobiko, then finishes with our spicy mayo and eel sauce. Can’t you just feel your mouth watering?
