The weather is cooling off, making it the perfect time to get out of your home and enjoy the beautiful weather. Fortunately, there are many fun fall festivals and Halloween activities that are going on this month in Naperville that allow you to enjoy the weather while also having fun with your family and friends. Here are a few of our favorites.
Halloween Light Tours
The Halloween Light Tour runs nightly from October 20 through October 31 and takes place on the Naperville Trolley. Board the trolley and take part in a family-friendly ghostly ride complete with Halloween lights, spooky sights and plenty of well-lit pumpkins. It is important to note that while there are plenty of lights to see on this tour, there are also areas that are dark and talk a bit about ghosts and haunts. This is a family-friendly event, so the spooks are minimal, but if your child is easily frightened, you may want to talk to them about what they might see to ensure the event is still enjoyable for them.
The Halloween Hop takes place on Saturday, October 29th. This event is a family-friendly, safe way to celebrate Halloween. There will be plenty of events taking place, including free trolley rides, costumes, trick or treating at local downtown businesses, dancing, arts and crafts and a variety of other fun activities. If you are looking for a safe place to celebrate Halloween with your children and want an event that is not spooky or scary, head out to this fun-filled time!
The Naperville Half Marathon and 5K
The Naperville Half Marathon, 5K, and kids races will take place on October 22nd. This family event is designed to emphasize the importance of eating and staying healthy by getting plenty of exercise. Not only will the race be taking place, but there will be plenty of vendors to visit in the marketplace selling fitness gear and healthy foods. Online registration for the race ends October 19th. In-person registration takes place on package pick up days, which are October 20th and 21st.
Naperville Farmer’s Market
The Naperville Farmer’s Market takes place every Saturday through October 28th. The farmer’s market is a great place to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers and homemade goodies. Support your local farmers by shopping locally.
