Your kids might not be thrilled this time of year. But the back-to-school season doesn’t have to be dreaded! As Naperville students head back to their first week, starting August 17th to the 24th, it’s a good time to remember that treats like an excursion to Shinto helps to ease the anxiety of looming tests and homework. It also makes a fun school event even more special.
Celebrating Education, Naperville-Style
What’s not to love about the Naperville school system? Our nationally-ranked public schools, along with our high-performing private schools and wealth of colleges, make the area known for superior education. In fact, Naperville has been ranked one of the top five “kid friendliest” cities in the country.
That ranking is based on the emphasis put on education, which has led to superior graduation rates. Naperville schools also consistently receive among the highest ranks in Illinois when it comes to standardized tests such as the SATs and the Illinois Standard Achievement Test (ISAT), reflecting a true dedication to education throughout the K – 12 years, and beyond.
Make the School Year Special with Shinto
Whether it’s a gathering at the Hibachi table or a cookie tempura pick-me-up, there’s always a way to make school events even more special by combining them with a visit to Shinto.
- First-day blues? How about some bite-sized delicacies to perk up an overwhelming first day of school? Treat the table to a Shinto Platter of appetizers like pan-fried shrimp and dumplings, chicken teriyaki and calamari tempura, or let the little scholars choose their own appetizers from our extensive menu.
- Homecoming. This special event is right around the corner, so now’s the time to begin plotting that pre-dance, or after-game, group dinner. Shinto’s private rooms offer Hibachi table seating that can accommodate large groups, while providing tasty, filling meals and an exciting “floor show” thanks to our talented chefs.
- Football Fridays. Even when it’s not Homecoming, excitement is always in the air at the end of the school week, and just before those evening high school football games (which in Naperville start in late August and run through the fall). Drop by Shinto for sushi or teriyaki suppers, followed by an exotic dessert like banana tempura or mochi ice cream.
- Sunday Family Dinner. Once school activities pick up, it can be challenging to find family time. Sunday nights are often the exception, however, so head on over for our Sunday family Hibachi special! Our tableside Hibachi specials come with appetizers, dinners and desserts. How could you pass up this offer?
