Spring Cocktails to Try at Shinto (Or Make at Home!)

Spring Cocktails to Try at Shinto (Or Make at Home!)

Spring temperatures and those beautifully sunny days deserve to be celebrated with only the most seasonally appropriate cocktails. We’ve recently expanded our cocktail menu with a trio of fun spring drinks, but we wanted to make sure that our friends can enjoy these drinks at home too. Drop in to sample the new cocktails at Shinto Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Lounge and then use our recipes to recreate them at home as well.

Pineapple Upside Down Martini

Don’t worry about baking a whole cake, enjoy this delicious dessert themed drink at home or we can make it for you! To recreate this drink you’ll need, 360 Vanilla Vodka, Malibu Rum, pineapple juice and a splash of grenadine down the side.

Melted Pina Colada

This drink is a crowd favorite that is sure to please. This specialty drink is made with: Don Q Coconut Rum, pineapple juice, lime juice and a splash of grenadine. If you want to recreate this one at home you’ll need to combine 1 cup of crushed ice, 1 cup of vodka/rum, and 1 cup of pineapple juice in a shaker, shake well. Strain the cocktail into a martini glass and slowly pour a splash of grenadine down the side.

Shinto Ginger Bloom

To recreate this delicious and refreshing drink that’s sure to complement any meal all you’ll need is Titos Vodka, St Germaine, ginger beer and a dash of grapefruit bitters. Mix and enjoy!

Strawberry Margarita: It's all too easy to make a mediocre margarita, and no good cocktail ever starts with pre-blended mixer. We use fresh strawberry puree, Cointreau, El Jimador Tequila and lime juice for that sweet and sour flavor that can't be replicated with artificial ingredients.

Bulleit Stone Sour

There’s no need to choose between bourbon on the rocks and a fruity cocktail with springtime flair when you can order our Bulleit Stone Sour. Bulleit is one of the finest and most flavorful rye bourbons, and the sweet and sour mix and orange juice we shake in only further accents the complex vanilla and spice notes in it. Our version includes Grand Marnier, but you can make your own version at home with just orange and lime juice, some homemade or store bought simple syrup and your favorite bourbon. Pour 1.5 ounces (or one standard shot) of bourbon into a glass and stir in half an ounce of lime juice and one ounce of orange juice. Add up to one ounce of simple syrup until the drink is as sweet as you prefer.

Cucumber Martini

Everyone’s got a favorite martini, but swapping the olives for the crisp sweetness of cucumber is a twist you absolutely must try. Our version combines Effen Cucumber with fresh cucumber and freshly squeezed lime. Sipping on our drink will save you the work of peeling and processing a raw cucumber and squeezing a lime, but if you must try it, start with .75 ounce of lime juice and one ounce of simple syrup. Muddle these with three thin slices of a peeled English cucumber and a sprig of cilantro or mint.  Add in an ounce of vodka and strain for a bright green drink with a spring flavor.
